The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

I was listening to the New Years 97 shows a few days before this show, and I had this nagging thought in my head during both nights at MPP.... "Jimi Hendrix"
I was thinking Izabella, but just anything Hendrix.
By the time YEM was done, I was so tired I didn't think anything they could pick would get me to stand up again, and my friend and I even considered making our way towards the exit rather than waiting through the encore.. and then Fire started. It was like I'd just gotten a full night sleep and a red bull! The experience being there, and being granted that one nagging wish out of nowhere is one that I know many many many people had that night (mellow mood, meatstick, saw it again, jumpin jack flash, and even tela for some folks), but that was definitely a moment for me and I'll never forget it.
